Worked on 6mUpdate: 29 March 2004 On Sunday 28 March, 3B9C worked SM7BAE in Sweden on EME. We believe this is the first ever QSO on EME from Rodrigues Island. Tonight, we have additional skeds, this time with WA4NJP. Tomorrow, we will try with W7GJ and W1JJ. EME
Update from Mike, G3SED23 March 2004 Here is a brief update on our planned EME operation. The main issue, is that we have a large hill in the direction of our moonset which is obstructing our view of the moon for almost 20 degrees. This means that we will only be able to work EME on our moonrise. The moonrise path to the moon is across the sea. However, we experiencing a large JA opening at moonrise which may cause problems with potential EME skeds at that time. We have received a large number of requests for skeds on EME. In view of the obstruction on our moonset we will be unable to accept skeds for that time. We are looking forward to providing the first known EME operation from Rodrigues Island probably at moonrise and will do our very best to make it happen !! More information will be provided shortly. See our update on EME times. |
