Here are some of the more
common questions:
Q: I keeping asking you things on the cluster, why are they ignored?
A: We are on a remote tropical island folks, we don't see the cluster!
(Posted 5 April)
Q: What are the problems with 20m RTTY?
A: We have some computer issues with this station, which means that
sometimes the system crashes. This is making our QSOs on 20m RTTY difficult.
We will work on a solution over the next couple of days. Meanwhile, we are
active on 10m and 15m RTTY.
(Posted 1 April)
Q: When RTTY? When PSK?
A: Our most common questions at the moment. We are already running RTTY on
20m, 15m and 10m, with some operation on 30m. We will continue with RTTY for
the rest of the DXpedition. Other bands will be activated as time permits.
PSK operation should start shortly.

Q: Why are their duplicate QSOs in the online log?
A; The European web server log had a bug and was duplicating QSOs for many
people. This has now been fixed.
(Posted 27 March)
Q: Will 3B9C operate in the WPX Contest?
A: Yes. We will run multi-multi with a very experienced team of contest
operators. If you have worked us already, please do call us in the contest.
(Posted 25 March)
Q: Where exactly is Rodrigues Island?
A: In the Indian Ocean. IOTA: AF-017; Locator: MH10sg; ITU Zone: 53; CQWW
Zone: 39; Lat/Long: 19°42' South, 63°30' East. (Posted 24 March)
Q: What about 160m to the west coast USA?
A: We are very aware that the opening is only a few minutes. Please be
assured, that we are always calling for W6 area at our sunset and our
sunrise. We will always be there. (Posted 23 March)
Q: When will you work the QRP stations?
A: We already have. Many QRP stations are already in the log. As the
DXpedition progresses, the pile-ups will become smaller, making it easier
for QRP and stations with smaller antennas to work 3B9C. We will not call
for QRP only. (Posted 23 March)
Q: Will the 3B9C logs be available on Logbook of the World (LoTW)?
A: Yes, we will load our logs to LoTW. The log will be available by the
September application cut-off. (Posted 23 March)
Q: Please listen for the west coast of North America.
A: We are very aware how difficult it is to work from 3B9 to W6/W7/VE7.
Operators are instructed to call for these areas when we know there is
propagation. We do ask that the rest of the world stands by while we work
into this region. Signals from W6/W7/VE7 are usually only 51 to 52 and for
very short periods. (Posted 21 March)
Q: When will you start RTTY, PSK, SSTV?
A: Not until after the WPX Contest weekend. Then we will start the data
modes. SSTV will follow later and we will advise when this will start. (Posted 21 March)
Q: Can we sign an online guestbook?
A: We decided not to provide a guestbook. The reason is, that we don't have
the resources to read and reply to messages. (Posted 21 March)
Q: I worked you but am not in the online log.
A: We upload a new online log about once every 24 hours. This can mean, that
your QSO won't show for maybe as much as two days. Please wait for two days
and if your call doesn't show at that time, it means you are not in the log
and should call us again. (Posted 21 March)
Q: Can you correct my call in the online log please?
A: No, that isn't possible. Please work us again. (Posted 21 March)
Q: I asked for an EME sked but didn't receive a reply.
A: You will receive a reply in due course, Our EME operation won't start
until later in the DXpedition. (Posted 21 March)
Q: Who is the QSL manager.
A: Click here for full QSL information. (Posted
