About Mike:
Mike started as a SWL in 1954, having heard some hams talking on a short wave set. Mentors were G3BHL and G3LKJ, now both unfortunately SK. RAE (failed), 1958, 1959, 1965, 1966, 1969 !! RAE Passed 1979.
Passed GPO CW Test annually from 1959 - 1969, as qualified for RAF Club operating permit, under which operated from Cyprus and Singapore in the 60s and 70s.

From being licensed worked 211 countries in first year, 5BDXCC obtained in 1984, 5BWAZ and 5BWAS in 1990. Top of Honor Roll 1998-99, 2003 - ? Mixed. Top of Honor Roll 2003 SSB. 317 worked CW.

Main interests SSB and CW DX-ing and Contest working, particularly on LF. Specialises in 80m DX.

Mike is retired, with wife Sandy, has one son Eric who lives in Southampton.
