and serious activity started again in the early 1990’s
In 1996 Justin was one of a team of 3 who activated the Isles of Scilly IOTA
EU011 for a week long expedition, including an entry in the IOTA contest. He
has also been a part of successful contest expeditions in the IOTA contest
as GU8D and MD4K
CW DX and contesting on HF is the main interest and he is a member of the
very successful Windmill Contest Group and The Flying Pigs Contest Group.
Justin specialises in CW on 40m and takes part in various contests both
single and multi-op, usually under the callsign M5X (MU5X). He has recently
taken up an interest in the Summits On The Air (SOTA) programme.
He is a member of the RSGB HF Contests Committee, currently in the capacity
of chairman.
Justin works as Deputy Manager of the asbestos consultancy division of a
large European environmental testing laboratory.
