About Jun:
Jun was first licensed in 1976, at the age of 12. He started his radio life on 15m, and soon got his interest in DXing and contesting.

When he entered university, he joined the university's radio club, JA3YKC, which was well know contest club in Japan. During the club activities, he was well stimulated in DXing, contesting and DXpeditioning. He led his first DX-contest expedition to JD1 when he was sophomore. He completed his Ph.D at the university, then worked there as a staff member until 1995. He enjoyed a lot of radio-related trips, as listed above, during his life in the university.

In 1991 and 1992 he led contest expedition to KH2 as a M/S team. The group set Oceania records in the WW DX contest and the records had remained for about 10 years.

He was a WRTC competitor in 1996 (K6A) and 2000 (S513A). He also joined WRTC 1990 as an alternate competitor/visitor.

He has moved to Vienna, Austria in 1999 for his work. As an IAEA staff member, he joined 4U1VIC radio club. He has been activating the club mainly during major contests since then. He is the president of the club since 2001.

After more than 20 years experience, Jun is a skilled operator of SSB and CW. He also has a lot of experience of RTTY pile ups, such as BV9P, ZL9CI, contesting at 4U1VIC etc. SSTV is his new challenge. He tried it during his several DX trips recently.

He has a wife and two little daughters with him in Vienna. They are not interested in radio :-<.
