About Jim:
Licensed back in the Middle Ages (1967 or so) and has been obsessed with DXing ever since. He has worked in various career fields, but all to do with RF. Broadcast (both as DJ and engineer), professional SWBC propagation and frequency monitor with VOA, terrestrial microwave and Public Safety VHF/UHF radio, several years with NASA's space communications, Motorola's Iridium project, and now in Satellite TV broadcasting.

Two years in Africa with U.S. Diplomatic Service, working in about 18 countries, plus some in Eastern Europe. Some of his most treasured memories of ham radio are from meetings with Amateurs during his travel assignments.

Other interests include SCUBA diving, rock climbing, and collecting music from countries he has visited.

He has worked single band WAZ 15M CW # 137, but has never truly chased any awards; Jim would rather go put a country on the air than collect cards at home, hihi. Jim has worked 206 DXCC and all 40 zones from his mobile with an IC-706 and 100w, mostly on CW.

He has worked Amateur satellites and digi modes, but now spends most time with CW and SSB

Jim thinks Amateur Radio is the best and most complete hobby anyone could possibly have.
