of the daySunrise outside the shacks, heralding the close of 3B9C. 3B9C QRT At local Rodrigues sunrise on Monday 12, April 2004, 3B9C fell silent. The first QSO was on 18MHz 2000z on Friday 19 March, when six stations were launched simultaneously. The last QSO was at local sunrise this morning. In all, 3B9C was on air for 23 days. 3B9C became the second largest DXpedition of all time. That accolade is held by D68C, which was organised by the same team as 3B9C. 14 of the 3B9C operators were also at D68C, joined this time by 17 additional operators. During
the operation, 3B9C was activated on all bands 160m to 6m, including
contacts on CW, SSB, FM, RTTY, PSK and SSTV. Contacts were made on 6m EME
and 70cm EME, along with satellite QSOs using FO-29. At times, 12
simultaneous signals were on the bands, all making QSOs. Almost
four tonnes of equipment were shipped by container, a third of the way
around the world and installed at the Cotton Bay Hotel on Rodrigues Island.
Over 20 antennas were erected and
15 transceivers connected along with a
wireless network of 24 computers.A full report of the final day on air with 3B9C will be posted shortly, along with some statistics, showing a breakdown of the QSO total. Reports on the breakdown of the station will continue on the web over the next few days, before the team board the Air Mauritius flight home this Thursday. QSL Routes Our four sided full colour QSL has already been designed and will be with the printers shortly. You can request QSL cards by direct mail, via the bureau and online. Check the QSL page. Nevada

Full details of the Nevada Rodrigues Trophies can be found here. Sponsors Our operation would not have been possible without the support of numerous commercial sponsors, DX and locals clubs, plus individuals. We take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their support. Thank you The whole team at 3B9C would like to extend our thanks to you for being there. Without your dedication on the bands working us, all our preparations would have been in vain. We salute you. |
