of the day:Don, G3XTT prepares to raise the 15m Trident beam. Six more full antenna systems were erected and tested today. We now have antennas ready for 10m CW; 10m SSB; 15m SSB; 17m CW/SSB; 20m CW; 30m CW; 40m CW/SSB; 80m CW; 80m SSB and 160m CW/SSB. This brings the antenna farm up to ten complete systems. In addition, antennas have been built for 12m, 20m SSB and 6m CW/SSB, with masts under preparation. These projects and several others will be completed during Friday. Progress in the shacks continues, with equipment distributed to each of the
16 stations, with several now wired and ready to test on tonight. Our computer network is under construction, with over 20 machines now connected to our 2.4GHz wireless network. Our computer gurus, John G3WGV and Paul EI5DI continue to work on this project, which will provide the StarLog software at each station. Additional computers will be available as servers, for internet access and other applications at 3B9C. Bob,
GU4YOX is our "power king" and responsible for installing electricity in
the shacks. The electricity supply has now been connected to each station location, providing 30 amps at each location. It has been very hot here today and many members of the team are very tired. This slows progress, as safety is important for members of the team. We will not rush things here, but make certain that the job is done correctly. Go to Friday -> |
